New Zealand Diploma of Adult Literacy & Numeracy (NZDipALN): The ALEC Model

Dip Model

Once again… I’ve started work on the Diploma. This is like about the 5th time I’ve had a go at writing this thing and hopefully, this time I’ll finish it.

Actually, this time it should be more of a collaboration, but more on that in a future post. What I wanted to establish here is the model that I’m going to use to organise, write, deliver, and assess the Dip.

The infographic above simplifies our other models that we use for organising and assessing the NCALNE (Voc) like this one and this more elaborate one which you can find on the last page of the TEC’s latest summary of the current available research on literacy and numeracy.

However, just so there is no confusion. They are in fact all the same model – just organised and presented slightly differently. I’ve had this particular one floating around for awhile so you may have seen it on one of my slideshows.

If you have any thoughts on how this works or can spot any issues with using this for the Dip, please hit the comment button and let me know.
