This is the sixth track in an album I’m working on this year that follows my interpretation of the Hero’s Journey. The Hero’s Journey is a classic storytelling framework that has been used for centuries, and I’ve always found it to be a powerful metaphor for personal growth and transformation.
In “No One At The Wheel,” we navigate through a sonic landscape that blurs the lines between Electronic Dance and Ambient genres, creating an intriguing tapestry of sound.
With a brisk tempo of 173 BPM set in the key of D Major, the track pulses with an energetic undercurrent, yet maintains a chill and calm mood, a testament to its intricate balance of dynamics.
The piece is emotionally balanced, resonating with medium energy levels that ebb and flow with a refined subtlety. The presence of bass guitar, percussion, and synth throughout the song adds layers of depth and texture, while the predominantly male vocals, with their understated presence, contribute to the track’s enigmatic allure.
This composition stands out as a vibrant, mood-centric journey, showcasing rhythmic complexity with emotive ambience, appealing to both the discerning electronic aficionado and the casual listener seeking a tranquil yet invigorating auditory experience.

Bio
THISISGRAEME is the stage name of Graeme Smith, a musician and maker of cool things from New Zealand. His music is a blend of downtempo vintage-sounding synthesizers, world music influences, ambient melodies, rock and roll energy, and of course, drum and bass beats.
Inspired by his interpretation of the Hero’s Journey, he’s currently working on releasing 20 albums of original music over the next 20 years. Despite streaming audio being a terrible deal for independent artists, he continues to share his work with people all around the world, and is always grateful for any support he receives.
