We wish to appoint an enthusiastic education specialist to help us to support community-based offenders to address lifelong learning barriers and gain recognised qualifications.

The Training and Education Team has been set up within the Service Development group at National Office to lead the design and implementation of the Department’s education and training initiatives within young offender and mainstream prisons and the community.

As Senior Adviser, Training and Education, you will work with a dedicated team of experienced people to champion a project management approach to delivering needs-based skills and educational outcomes for offenders serving community-based sentences. You will work closely with our regions and Probation staff to design and implement plans that increase access for those on community-based sentences to education and training.

You will have strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent problem solving skills, sound judgement, and ability to work effectively within a team are imperative. Engagement with the Department’s internal and external stakeholders and operational staff is also a core component of the role.
