2014 ANZ Business Plan Competition – Anyone Keen…?

The ANZ bank are running their annual business plan competition again. It’s a great opportunity for people to have a crack at winning some prize money and business related support.

You can submit a plan for a new business idea or an existing business. According to the blurb on their website:

Are you a start-up or an existing business with an annual turnover of less than $1million? You could be eligible to enter the 2014 ANZ Flying start Business Plan Competition.

We’re looking for a viable business idea that’s geared for growth and sustainable revenue, and can make a positive contribution to the local, national or global economy.

The main prize package worth $45,000 includes:

  • $30,000 cash provided by ANZ for approved business growth opportunities (subject to conditions)
  • $5,000 of marketing consultation, training or development, provided by The Marketing Bureau
  • $5,000 of advertising or editorial in NZBusiness Magazine
  • $5,000 of legal advice, provided by Lane Neave Lawyers

There are also prizes of $5,000 cash for second and third place and 10 regional prize winners will each receive $1,000 cash.

    1. No prob…! And no… never too soon in my opinion. Just the process of having to write a business plan by the deadline is a great thing. There’s not really any downside apart from the time involved. The thinking process is really valuable and then you’re set up for future occasions when you might really need a business plan, e.g. asking for funding, getting a mortgage, or other business development opportunities.
